APK Consultancy was founded in the 1995 as a closed corporation consultancy to facilitate business and development contact between international parties and various African counterparts or markets.

This initiative resulted in the consultancy being recognized by UNESCO in 1999 with the prestigious Award for Best Online Service in Africa for its role in promoting African development networks. These contacts have since led to a number of projects throughout the continent.

In early 2004 the Consultancy’s mission was revised to specifically address the need for organisations wishing to find new markets in Africa or obtain information about such markets to support trade, inward investment or general business.
